Can I "game" this system?

I could connect to this application through six or sixty different free Google accounts and up-vote all my own posts and answers. Are there any mechanisms in place to deal with that kind of behavior?

Go for it! If you figure out a way to get loads of karma and badges by using multiple accounts and it goes undetected, have at it. If it that makes you feel good, I would be happy to set up a site for you, for a nominal fee, and assign you every badge and more karma than you can imagine.
If I discover that someone is gaming the system with multiple accounts, there is a strong likelihood I will remove accounts and/or karma.
