My favorite loop is the plane crash, rocking chair, dozer loop starting and ending at the Fishkill Ridge trailhead in Beacon Hills.

Hudson Valley: Shawangunk Ridge (path to Skytop and Ice Caves, specifically) Beacon/Fishkill: Really nice trail surrounding the Melzingah dam, just south of Mt. Beacon

I have done this hike. It was extraordinary, and definitely not for the faint-of-heart. This is the only hike that truly made me cry, no joke.
