Why? How much snow? What penalties can I expect? Are there safe alternatives?

The Mayor wants to give everyone fair warning that he's not interested in going back to the old ways (i.e. no overnight street parking during the winter season), but in order to combat those not moving their cars when 2in+ of snow accumulates, the city will be strictly enforcing ticketing and towing. I am in favor of this, and I was happy to know our mayor is looking to move not backward, but forward. He mentioned he had met with the fire and police dept. regarding these issues. He also said that anyone seen shoveling snow into the streets would be met with a hefty fine. This last snow fall, 100+ tickets were issued and 11 vehicles were towed.

If its over 2 inches you have to use a lot. After the snow ends you have 24 hours to move it from there.
